About C.A. Forbes
I am a Cheshire born writer brought up in the Yorkshire Dales – who spent years living in the south of England, mainly in Kent. My professional life was spent as a solicitor – with a break-out period as an antiques dealer – before being dragged back into the world of law and legal consultancy.
The usual story of always wanting to write is true for me. When I got married we moved to the Kent coast and I finally found the time and discovered my storytelling genre. A childhood of watching too many British black-and-white war movies, and finding myself living on the dramatic coastline of the White Cliffs, conjured up Sutherland and a whole bunch of real-life characters who it turned out had actual roles during WW2.
The Hellfire Detective is my first novel, launching The Sutherland WW2 Series, a set of wartime historical thrillers.
I now live back in the Yorkshire Dales with my husband, and our cat Barnaby.
